As the title says, I was wondering if anyone knew of a recording of the Bernard Heiden Concerto for Tuba? I see that it was written for Harvey Phillips a decade or two ago, but that's about all the information I can find. I'm preparing this piece for a Concerto competition, and having a recording would really speed things along in learning the piece. Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron Hynds

Heiden Concerto
I know of the existence of two recordings. Unfortunately both are commercially unavailable at this time. One is Harvey Phillips performing with the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra; the other is with the University of Buffalo Wind Ensemble. (The wind ensemble version was arranged by the composer). I am currently working on obtaining copies of these performances. Email me privately, and I'll see that you receive a copy-- as long as it is okay with Mr. Phillips.
