I currently own a Conn 56J Tuba and when I first bought it I bought an altieri bag. But to save everyone from a long story, it didnt work out. I am interested in what everyone else is using. My only problem is I am rather short, 5 foot 5, so bags such as Pro-Tec often hit the back of my legs when walking. If anyone has any suggestions please reply or pm me.
thanks.

Sorry to hear your Altieri bag didn't work out. So far, mine is working fine for my 56J.
There are a few other brands people consistently recommend. You might do a search on " 'Gig Bag' AND '56J' " to see what you find.
Regards,

Since you haven't gotten many suggestions, I'll chime in having seen exactly ONE Tuxedo bag in person. The thing I like about that bag is how the straps put the bag up higher so it doesn't bag around on the back of you legs. The owner is about 5' 8" and carries a VMI 2103 in it.

Altieri
I still have an Altieri bag for that tuba, for sale. It's black and in new condition, and it has extra padding on one side. It sits up higher than other bags. $150.

Call up Donna Altieri and talk to her about the bag. I am positive she will be able to figure out why it did not work for you and since they are custom made she can easily modify it to suit your needs.
