I just finished doing an arrangement of the first movement (Bordel 1900) for tuba and piano. I haven't had a chance to play it together with the piano yet, but it works pretty well on tuba; I'm just playing it down two octaves from the original. I can update later on how it works out. Are you arranging it all yourself, or is there a commercially available version? And are you playing euph or tuba?

There are a few editions that people use. There is a cello edition that Steven Mead actually used for his rendition on World of the Euphonium, Vol. 4. The same edition is also available in a Soprano Saxophone version which you can simply read as Bb-treble clef. Either work well.

Hi there...

I have performed this piece a couple of times on tuba and I think that it is quite effective. When initially researching this piece, I purchased the original version for flute and guitar, and intended to perform it as is with guitar accompaniment. After my guitarist fell through, I stumbled across the version for soprano sax and piano mentioned above. This arrangement is wonderful for two reasons. First of all, it already has a piano accompaniment, and secondly, it is written a step below the original. I know that a whole step is not huge, but trust me, it makes all the difference in the world!

I purchased my copy of the sax arrangement directly from Theodore Presser, the distributor in the US for this piece. A simple Google search should reveal their website with contact information.
