what tuba is this kid playing?

Post by davidwburns »

I'm not very good at identifying tubas. Is this a king or a conn or something else? Can anyone help me out?

BTW, the kid [EDIT: highly respected professional] is pretty amazing!

I meant no disrespect by "kid", he just looks young here and it seemed like a high school band room. Thanks!

That "kid" plays in the Bejing Symphony!

Never knew that a convention floor looks like a High School Bandroom.

Alright! Alright! Yes. I get it! He's 60 years-old, has 3 grandkids, 5 Grammies, plays for Bejing Symphony, and used to change Roger Bobo's diapers, and convention floors are in an entire different architectural ballbark than high band room floors. Just wanted to know what kind of weird-*** tuba he was playing. :P

Are you sure you know he isn't a kid? I could tell you one more time if you need it. You could probably use a couple more "me too" posts just to make sure you know he isn't a kid.

By the way, he isn't a kid

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Thanks for the support, Owasso! I guess, based on the previous thread for this non-kid tuba genius, that this is some kind of Jinbao tuba. At first glance, I wondered if it wasn't an American tuba. I've got a King 2341 on back order and I really want to see it in action.

Thanks, cktuba. That's exactly what it looks like. I won't rehash the whole lead pipe discussion on this one.
