wtb: Mirafone F or Eb

Post by thomas850 »

I'm looking to buy a Mirafone F or Eb tuba. My budget is around $2000. I am looking at the Mirafone 181-5V F tuba or 183-5V Eb tuba although probably the Mirafone 180-5V is the best option for my budget. If you've got one of these horns or know someone who does let me know! Thanks!

Here is an older Miraphone F for $1500. The ad is a little old, it might not still be for sale. Contact the seller and find out.

I did see the 181 and it looks like a great horn. I know it is the best horn I listed. The 180 and 183 are only on the list because of my price range. I also saw the older post for the 180. I have contacted him but not received a reply yet.

Richard, thanks for putting those links together for me. I have seen many of these as I have been looking. I've been keeping the Eb in the back of my mind as another option as I am doing some brass band playing right now. Mainly I want to use the horn to solo on while at school and also to use for some small ensemble work which is why the F is my first choice. I have also played one of the Mirafone 180s in the past and though it is small I liked how it played and it seems to be right in my price range.

FWIW, I bought a horn from Mike Allen about 5 months ago, and can say nothing but good things about the transaction. It's a busy time right now to buy/sell anything, so be patient during your search. :)

Good luck!

Sold it a while back.... Chuck G also sold one... both were 4V 183's. Good luck finding a 5V on your budget!
