Mystery Valve Section
Anyone recognize these valves? It was originally a three-banger that someone added a 4th valve to. The 4th valve is the #1 valve from the donor valve section. The piston diameter is 1.062". My parts lists say this could be Buescher, Bundy, Mercedes, or maybe Selmer. I don't think it's likely they came from a front-action tuba but probably from a sousaphone. The bore is .737". The serial number on the #2 casing is 4828XX.

I think it's a Conn BBb... probably around 1930-ish. 22 inch bell. Yea... that funky 90 degree bend is the exit from the 4th valve to the bugle. Don't look at me! I didn't do it!YORK-aholic wrote:But what is/was the tuba its attached to? That fourth valve wrap looks to have one really tight bend.
