On stage at 8am Saturday morning with the Bend in the River Brass from Newburgh, IN. I'm going to New Albany on Friday and will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express. It will be great to meet any of you guys who are there.

We (that is, the Brass Band of the Western Reserve) are also staying at the HIE in New Albany.

I'll show you a concern I have about the kicker you installed. Maybe there's a fix, maybe not.

On Friday, I'll be playing tuba in Chicago Brass Band Players for our entry in the Small Brass Ensemble Competition.

I'll also be playing piano for three of the Solo Contest entrants from Chicago Brass Band: Roger Menning, Brian Rogers, and Virginia Hernandez.

On Saturday, I'll be playing in Chicago Brass Band's entry in the Championship Section.

Looking forward to seeing some TubeNetters at NABBA,

I had a chance to see the NEW Besson Prestige euph last Monday. I have a fix for the linkage in mind that will allow you to adjust the main tuning slide 'on the fly'. I wasn't very happy about that 'kicker kit' but at the time, a REAL one was not available from Besson. I think I can make you a replacement linkage that you can just 'bolt on'. Set your slide where you are in tune and measure the current link from eye-to-eye. I'll be in New Albany probably around Noon on Friday. Give me a shout at 812-457-2284 and we'll get together.

Excellent! Actually, the stock linkage isn't quite long enough. I have to unscrew the various linkage elements at least 4 or 5 revolutions so that the main tuning slide is "out" enough to be in tune. But a more user-friendly bolt-on deal would be mo betta.

I'll give you a call when we hit the hotel.
