I've always had fun when I visited TE. I wish I could have joined you.

Way back-in-the-day ( >10 years ago) whenever they first started importing the St.Pete BBb, Vince had a "very nicely tweaked" example that played exceptionally well. Man...the low octave on that one was killer. I ordered one, but he was having difficulties with delivery and also with variabilities in the valves, so I never took delivery and had to move-on without regret. I think that they have production kinda sorted-out and the TE employs Mike Morse to perform the "tweaking". Dispite some of the bad rep' these horns may have received, I still think that the ones I have tried were pretty darn good at the $3k price break. Although I'd rather have a used B&S or Miraphone or even a Cerveny.

Thanks for posting your experiences. I was hoping you would. Glad you had a good time. I bet they would have been thoroughly impressed if they had gotten to try your horns

I bought two tubas for them and so far no complains. Actually I am very satisfy with their service.Vince was very helpful.
( ST.PETE first and later on a KALISON 2001 CC tuba).

I played that horn ~2.5 years ago (I think it was Fall 04). It was just a 4 valve horn at the time & I thought it was quite nice. I heard about Pokorney's opinion of the horn back then, so I guess he played it in the 4v configuration. Perhaps he's tried it a few times.

If I was in the market for something like a PT3 / PT4 / 186 rotary valve horn I'd want to play this one too.
