I heard Sam Pilafian playing the crap out of this thing at Iowa Bandmasters last month. It was Sam, though. He told me that it was a good horn and that he liked it. I didn't get a chance to play it because I was working. I liked the sound that came out of it (when Sam's face was connected to it).

I’ve spent about 2 hours playing one and I have a very favorable impression of it. No bad intonation issues, even response, and a good low register. The sound is a bit lighter than other 4/4 tubas that I’ve played. Overall I liked it.
Amongst aviators it is often said that any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. It's an even better landing when you can reuse the airplane.
