Used College and HS sousas

Post by Hank74 »

I'm just curious here as to whether there are any websites or places where there would be used sousas for sale that were used at either the college or HS level. If so, that would be a great way to find a used horn that could still be used.

Keep an eye on e-bay. A pair of what looked like fairly nice sousaphones just sold on e-bay for $28 for the pair. (I was at work and missed the auction! GRRRR!) Plus it included an extra upright bell that had no connection to the sousa's. Keep an eye out for some of the classic horns from Conn, King, Reynolds, or Olds. Some nice horns that after an hour or so with a dent machine could be made to look and play fairly respectable.

Contact Dan at "The Village Tinker" -- he's a sponsor on this site. I think he may have one or two available.
