I do not believe this has been posted and if so I apologize, but David Uber, a good friend to the Tuba/Euphonium community, passed away on June 29, 2007. His obituary can be found here:

July 2, 2007

TINMOUTH — Dr. David A. Uber, resident of Tinmouth, VT, passed away while tending his garden on Friday, June 29, 2007, after a long illness. Dr. Uber was a world-renowned composer, conductor, trombone player and college professor. During his lifetime, he composed over 400 musical pieces. He had received the prestigious Composer's Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers annually since 1959. His compositions are performed around the world.

He served as director of the Princeton University Symphonic Band for 10 years. While playing first trombone for over 20 years with the New York City Ballet Orchestra, the New York City Opera Orchestra and NBC Symphony Orchestra, he earned a reputation for being one of the finest brass musicians in New York. He played with Leonard Bernstein at the opening of Lincoln Center, and made numerous recordings with conductors such as Leopold Stokowski, Morton Gould, Fritz Reiner and Bruno Walter. For 33 years, he taught music at the College of New Jersey, earning professor emeritus status.

Born in Illinois, David Uber grew up in St. Louis, Mo. His father was a Lutheran minister, and his mother came from a farming family in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Carthage College in Illinois. Subsequently, he won a scholarship to Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy Band. At Columbia University, he earned Master of Arts and Doctor of Education degrees. In 1999, Carthage College awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Music.

His wife, Nancy, was a talented harpist who also played in New York City. He is survived by his children, David and Christine of Tinmouth, and grandchildren, Alan, Alex and Amanda.

Viewing will be at Clifford Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral will be at Grace Congregational Church in Rutland, VT, at 11 a.m.
