I will be performing the Gregson Tuba Concerto, or at least part of it (I do as much as the person writing the check requests) as accompanied by the Waukegan Municipal Band.
The concert will be at the Stiner Pavilion, which is an outdoor venue with pleantly of free parking. The concert is free.
The show is on Tuesday July 10, at 7:30PM.
There is more information on the band and their other concerts at:

From Tom Gillette, Music Director of the Waukegan Municipal Band:
Jim did a superb job in the Gregson..(first movement was all he played) and we poked along pretty well, after the conductor realized that the legal sized score he had didn't fit easily in the little wind-proof box he uses!
Jim's tone was focused, strong, dynamics were played, and he centered each note, with a really nice interpretation, and a nice "groove" to the tempo that moved ahead without hurrying. He trotted out a 6 valve instrument that wasn't quite as heavy sounding as the Eb I'm used to hearing him on, and I think it sounded more secure from an intonation standpoint. He mumbled something to me about a new mouthpiece and a plastic rim...
Anyway...the Gregson is a great piece for a summer concert like that, and I enjoyed hearing Jim play it, as much as I enjoyed his pre-concert Berlioz warm ups.
