Well. Having been unable to attend the full band concert on Friday night, I managed to get to the Marine Band "Ensemble" concert this afternoon. I must admit that for my level of sophistication(sp?), I found the first two pieces performed to be not particularly interesting. They were performed well. I just couldn't really get into either.
Now the brass ensemble piece was an entirely different experience. Wow! Can those guys and gals play! I liked the piece a lot. And the tuba playing was absolutely kick***. Wow and wow.
Sorry I didn't get to stay and chat. I was actually off to a tuba clinic.
