Two vital things missing from your bag...Bob1062 wrote:So, what do you carry in your tuba bag/ case, or just stuff that always goes with you and the horn?
Since I have neither a bag nor case for my horn, I carry my "other stuff" in a shoulder bag.
"In the bag"-
-music
-pencils and pen
-valve oil
-mouthpiece cleaner (the mi-t-mist stuff, I have let other people try, say, my bass trombone and I feel they'll enjoy it more with my bass mouthpiece as opposed to the 6.5AL they usually have)
-trombotine and spray water bottle
-rag for trombone slide or mouthpiece cleaning
-pliers
-athletic tape
-excerpts to blast out during breaks and "impress" people
-folding music stand if I need it (not often)
-sometimes a backup mouthpiece, but not very often
-laundry clips (for outdoor stuff)
(in chainsaw case, a Bach 25 and a 6.5AL, just to be safe!)
I keep the valve oil, trombotine,.. in a little bag by itself. I will stick in my chainsaw case if I'm playing that or in my shoulder bag if I'm playing tuba. If I'm playing just trombone, i'll try to fit the music in the case. Unfortunately, it has a smaller case than the current Getzen's but it can still work. On the upside, it also has handles that the current ones don't.
I HAVE carried my folding music stand in my tuba bell with a large towel wrapped around it sometimes.
1.) Metronome.
2.) Tuner.
My bag has those two, valve oil, mouthpiece, slide grease, and a couple of other various gadgets (the pencil is clipped to the horn).
