How's the band doing at VT this fall?

Just wondering and sending 'good karma'.

Although I'm not a current member of the Marching Virginians, I can say that from an alumnus of the MV's on the outside, they seem to be doing pretty well. They look and sound better than they ever have and I think there is also a new-found pride and responsibility to honor those lost and the university as a whole. The article is the ESPN Magazine was a great read and highly recommended.

I was at the season opener against ECU and it was a very emotional day for everyone. This year, the band's long time arranger and former assistant director produced a new arrangment of the Alma Mater.....and it was performed magnificently. Last week, they performed an arrangement of Amazing Grace that was extremely moving.

The Marching Virginians are also known as 'The Spirit of Tech'.....and that rings true this year more than ever before.
