Just got back from Elkhart late last night for the grand opening of Roger Lewis's new digs. Had a great time. Lots of good food; being the first day of Oktoberfest they had lots of good german food. Got to talk to Roger and even after being there for a while when I got ready with all the different people there he even remembered my name. Thanks for everything Roger. Got to try a couple of horns that had been thinking about. I have only ever played BBb horns and then mostly rotor horns. I first tried the 195. Great horn, great sound. Then I decided to try the 5450(Thor). All I can say is "WOW" The horn just felt great, the valve layout fit my hand just right(no thumb ring pain) Once I got over the CC idea and just thought in BBb it just sang. Great low range, valve action was just great! I do not play for a living, just for fun but that horn has me thinking about switching over. Once again; thanks for everything Roger.
