Burning River Brass
If you have an opportunity to hear this brass ensemble, do it! My wife, son and I went to hear them last night in Merrick, LI. The highlight, for me, was their performance of Bach's, e minor Fugue ("The Wedge"). A difficult piece for brass instruments, BRB performed it flawlessly. Great concert! And, I have a new tuba hero. Matt Gaunt was incredible playing one of Sam Gnagey's creations. Matt got a beautiful, warm sound from this horn, with just the right presence and core. It's difficult for me to describe, but Matt is a very fine player. Check this ensemble out, if you get the chance!

Thanks for the kind words! It was really nice to meet Greg, Bill, and Sam Gnagey on tour (as well as many other people), and for them all to take time out to come hear us. Greg - thanks again for bringing the Thor for me to play a bit - is really a great horn. Bill - really enjoyed our chat after the show, and meeting you and your family. Sam, I really appreciate your time and willingness to drive out - the horns are really special, and obviously I (and the group) really love the one I bought!
Thanks!
Matt
Thanks!
