Kalison Daryl Smith model CC

Post by andrew the tuba player »

Ok guys. This is what i traded my 1865uc for. It's a 2003 Kalison Daryl Smith Signature CC tuba. It's beautiful silver with only 2 tiny dents and scratchs. I really like the horn. I've heard a lot of coments about the stuffyness and "Euphoniumishness" ( :?:  ) of this horn. I have found no such problem. Intonation is amazeing along with the nice deep dark tone. I haven't tryed it with anything but a Loud LM7 so, i don't know about the mouthpiece pickiness. I'll try to get pictures soon.

Congratulations on joining the club. I've never noticed any "euphoniumishness" (?) but you might notice a stuffy low range when you get used to the horn. I didn't notice a stuffy low range until about a month after I got mine. It's not bad just not preferable. (for me and my kali)

hello tuba.... people. this is 'andrew the (not so grandly bright) tuba players' girl friend. yes. the all amazingly beautiful and sexy jessi. :D in the past... id say about 30 mins... i have won a fight over the computer and access to say what ever i like about andrew while he tries to ignore that im publicly humiliating him on the web. dont you guys just LOVE it???!!!??? i sure do. any who, yes. the epic battle that we faught will cost him greatly (not that there had to be much effort). so... um.... a story..... ah. have you heard the story of the evil hogan??? or maybe... OH!!! forget hogan!!! (an evil girl in our band that racked the crap out of him.) what about the famous mommy story? well... not really a story. but a picture. close your eyes and let me take you to a world unknown... that most people dont want to know... well.... just close your eyes dang it. youll get it in a min.

beautiful day outside, eh? why yes. beautiful indeed. birds singing and wind making seeds of love drift across the bright blue sky. off to make someone elses day even better. and ah yes. we come to a home. two parents and their 2 loverly kids... then the odd one. yeah. we all know. every family has one. the odd one out. the little rock in the puddle of water. the daisy in the sunflower patch. yes. oh yes. his name in fact was andrew. a little boy in a diper. and dont ever forget the high heels and beautiful garden hat.
sorry so short of a pic. i couldve written about this for hours.
and by the way, grammer nazi, i dont give a flying hoot.
love and peace always.
-- the all amazingly beautiful and sexy jessi.

Well, if you find out later that she is , indeed, the perfect woman and, in fact, has World Class Sound, you will be sorry to have given her such short shrift...

Yeah, and without knowing the exact whereabouts of this whole thing:

There ARE beautiful girls out there that use their brain and have some style. I believe life with those is more fun.

On a more serious note, be really careful with the screws holding the kalison together. especially the two around the bell and lead pipe. i had one sheer off earlier this year and it was the most annoying thing I've ever had to fix.

Yeah, I'll be sure to watch them. I've talked to my local repair man (who's really good.see http://thebandsmith.com/projects.htm for some really cool repair jobs) about lengthening the 5th valve tuning slide on the bottom so that It would tune to 2-3 Eb instead of 1-2 E# like my former Mirafone because that's the setup I'm used to. But, other than that, It's all good 8)
