This has been bugging me for a while now.
Another Conn stunt was the creation of fantastic instruments. The most famous was the "immensaphone", the world's largest musical instrument, with a bell eight feet in diameter, requiring eight musicians to produce a sound said to be audible 35 miles away.
I have read that the bell is 12 feet in diameter on the Conn site. But on another site it was only 8.
Was this real?
Does this still exist?
Where is it?
Is there a picture of it anywhere?
I read that it is 35 feet long. Is that the total length of the tubing of how tall it is.
Is it still in production?
I want one....
or two.
Five should do it

Bump, 'cause now you've got me curious, and I know that someone here must know a thing or two about this "Immensaphone"

Hmmmmmm... I wonder if this could be it.
The description says was a Conn thing abd you can see Conn Advertisements. And it does not describe it as being woodwind or brass.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

If the bell had that large a diameter, a saxophone like the one pictured wouldn't match. It doesn't look to be more'n three...

Oh, good point... Unless if that person in the picture is really tall. And thanks to even more studing of that picture, it looks like it could be a keyed bugle of some type.

The bell could be 8.....the Bell, from the angle, looks to be longer than the man, he might be 6'4
Longer, but Tubaing didn't quote
length , but
diameter .
And being the marketing whizzes they were, i'd bet that they got a shorter person, just to make the
big saxophone look
bigger ...

that would explain requiring 8 people...to move the keys of the sax.
That bell is more than 3' across! An alto is what, 2' top to bottom point?
