Could any owners of this horn please post some photos of your Meinl-Weston 30 or 32 CC Tuba. I would like to get an idea of the design, and size. Please give me a little help with this. Also, what gig bag do you use with this horn? In advance, your help is much appreciated.

www.thevillagetinker.com has a picture of the 33, which is the same as the 32 with a removable bell.

i might have some pictures but ill have to look around and also i have a reunion blues gig bag that i use with mine.....it needs a pillow to keep it from moving around....but it works and is a really nice bag

This is a Meinl 33CC. Same as the 32 except for the detachable bell. I have more pictures if interested. I also have a set of specifications on the horn. Email me at danschultz@wowway.com. BTW... that body fit nicely into a Mirafone 186 body case.

I used to have a VMI copy of a MW 30. It is not a huge horn, but certainly a 4/4.

When I bought it, it came with an Alteiri bag that was a little bit too big for it. It did its job though!

From searching through the archives, I noticed that Mark Chachich owns or owned a Model 32. If he still owns his, I wonder if he has any photos? I knew that he has stated that this was his back-up instrument to his Alexander 163. Thank you.

I have and enjoy a M-W Model 32 CC tuba. I have used it in bands and quintets, some jazz, and occasional solos. The Alteri gig bag I have for it was intended for the M-W Model 25, the BBb version of the Model 32. It fits well.

It looks a lot like the Model 30 that Dan (TubaTinker) posted photos of in this thread. If anyone is interested, I have five photos I took of my Model 32 that I sent to Dan last August (he wanted to see how it was assembled, as guidance for re-assembling that Model 30 he showed us).

If you want some high resolution photos (over 4 megabytes each, 2592x3888 pixels), I have five different views. PM me and I can send them via email. [I could reduce the resolution and file sizes.] If I get more than a couple of inquiries, I'll figure out how to post them online.

I bought my M-W model 32 new almost six years ago. It has been chem-cleaned once. I keep it well lubricated, including squirting Blue Juice down the leadpipe every other day.

I have had the first valve vented, and the first valve slide lapped for easy moving. The first valve slide is the only one I have to adjust while playing, and then only for a few notes when playing loud or sustained. I mostly use a Mike Finn MF3 mouthpiece, although I sometimes use something smaller if I am going to be playing only in the mid to upper range.

My tuba has what M-W calls the long main tuning slide, which makes it possible to play the instrument at A=440. [The standard tuning slide is for those Europeans who prefer A=443 or more.]
