A comment and a question.

1. Glad to see the Beversdorf Sonata included in the Young Artist Competiton. Now, hope they can find a piano player to play the accompiaent!!!!Hard stuff.

2. With the "wall' up with Russia, how easy is it going to be to find the Shosty 8 and where do ya'll plan on breathing? Yee-Haa on that one, a real bitch of a section if ever one was written, just glad I'm not a trombone player.

Yeah, I read that before I posted (thanks anyway!). Since that's not common practice for the first round of orchestral auditions, I thought I'd toss out the question anyway, in case someone already called the ITEC folks to clarify. Otherwise, we'll just go w/what the web site says.

I figure that since they are only requesting the exposition, and because it is a mock audition, that accompaniment is not applicable. I guess the best thing to do would be to ask Tony Kniffin?

I asked Dr. Norhtcut the same questions. He then forwarded my questions onto Mr. Kniffen.

Here is the reply, from Tony Kniffen, through Tim Northcut

"To answer your questions, no piano is required. Mvt. II exposition is to rehearsal 3 or 3 measures before 3."
