LA Phil bass bone audition winner?

Post by Norm in Bellevue »

Prelims are tomorrow. Finals on Monday. Where will the results be posted first? Surely some TUBENETTER knows!

Thanks.

Auditions are over, so I believe it's safe to talk about now.
Word I received is that no one was offered the position.

4 were automatically placed in the semis and 2 advanced from prelims. It was narrowed from 6 to 4 in the finals, but no one person had enough votes to win (needed 6 out of 11 commitee members to win). Salonen was apparently there, but did not vote.

This is second hand info from one of the finalists. Should be reliable.

Hey Scott, let Wayne know that there weren't 20 that were automatically advanced to the semis!

And is it known who those four were?

From http://remember.to/practice

"No winner chosen. Finalists included Ilan Morgenstern, Mike Priddy, Yosef Itskovich (Tenerife), and Louis Bremer. Six semi-finalists also included Jon Lofton (auto) and Steve (Fissel?)."

Man, that's harsh. I'd rather he win one of these things instead of just keep makin' finals lists! :P :P :P
