Hey man, I am the freshman with the Mira 1291 and talked with you at the audition. I heard the solo and it was very well done. Congrats again!

Yes. Making All-State in the TMEA system is quite difficult. I know, since I used to do that whole deal as a kid. Congrats!
Thanks!
Shame I didn't do better though...
I know I could have. :(

Yeah... my teacher never got recordings so I had to make adjustments in the room.
I actually thought I had played well: the judges didn't like something that I did, I suppose.
 isn't that always one of the excuses?

Many 'grats to both of you. I used to think that All-State B & O where I grew up was a pretty big deal, but afterwards it dawned on me that making it in a state like Texas would mean much more competition and would be much harder process.

I envy you. I made all state three times in high school freshman - junior years chairs 21-12-8. My junior year I was placed first in the first two rounds and on the third I choked(literally). I took a big breath on a rest and inhaled some spit down the wrong pipe. I missed about a whole two measures and that bumped me down 7 chairs. What you've done is a great accomplishment that will live in your mind forever. I hope you don't take it lightly. Congrats.

First of all congratulations man. Second of all having been there (played petrouchka in 05) college is a whole new world. Be prepared to an even greater extent for college auditions and for professional auditions. It's a whole different skill set. Good luck.
