going to see Baltimore

I'm going to the concert this Sat. I've never been before, how's parking? Also, what's nearby for lunch after the show?

Baltimore is just about my favorite city. Very easy to get in and out of, parking is good. Tons of awesome restaurants, yes, the Inner Harbor is nice, but touristy. Little Italy is great, but if you have a chance to get to Fell's Point, go there. lots of great bars and restaurants.

Parking shouldn't be a problem. Two garages right around the Meyerhoff. Far too expensive, though as anywhere in a large city anymore.

I'll second what Olds said. Go to Fell's Point. Good bars, good restaurants. Bertha's has Jazz that's worth hearing usually. Max's on Broadway has phenomenal selection of beers on tap.

Good stuff on Charles Street, too which is closer than Fell's Point.

I think Fell's would be a great choice for selection, waterfront, and getting a few drinks. I second the vote for Berthas for mussles, followed by Max's for a few strong brews.

Other options are: Canton or Federal Hill (yuppie trendy/just-out-of-college crowd), Mt. Vernon (close to the arts district and a little fancy), and Hampden (think: John Waters and Hairspray). I wouldn't plan to eat at the Inner Harbor unless you really want to pay for parking and throw down a little extra $ for the location.

If you want the true Baltimore experience, go to Lexington Market.

It's a little gritty, full of locals, and you'll be able to get a "7/4 sized" crabcake (at Faidley's).

Look on your map for Park Ave. I always park for free on that road for concerts and there has always been a space. Only a couple minutes to walk.

All of the suggestions are good (Fell's Point is a lot of fun and has
good places to eat that range from inexpensive to expensive).
Do not forget Little Italy for food (roughly between the Inner Harbor
and Fells Point).

And as already suggested, check out the Baltimore Brass Company.
Great place, excellent staff and lots of tubas!
