Thanks MKainuma. That makes more sense. Was not trying to be a butt in my earlier post, it justed seemed odd to me to post that bit of information when it was no longer relevant. Thank you for clarifying.

Did they give you a date or time? I got a similar email last night, but there was no real definitive yay or nay, it just said "Your resume has been received" and that they might be making cuts later. Maybe some people are still on the fence?

Just theoretical curiosity, but, can you live there for what they're paying? Are there other opportunities?I know the cost of living there is pretty crushing...

Hardly a problem specific to Honolulu...can you live anywhere (with VERY few exceptions) on what "they" pay an orchestral tuba player?

Please correct me if I am wrong the Finalists as I know them were:

Andy Smith (from Lubbock not New York)
Adam Snider (I think that's the right last name) he's the guy who played last season in honolulu
Dan Castillo (again I'm not positive on the last name) from Colorado
and of Course John Elliot who won the gig

Again I'm not positive on the last names of Adam or Dan

Congrats to John. I just want to say that I had the pleasure of playing along side Adam a few times in Honolulu. He's a fine player and a great guy.
