Composers shouldn't think too much -- it interferes with their plagiarism.

Tchaikovsky 2 has quite a nice tuba part - no doubt BBb stuff.
Don't know the Khachaturian but being Russian most likely BBb. Remember BBb is the standard orchestral tuba in Russia.
Have never played the Bax Tintagel, but heard it's good. Without seeing first I would presume using EEb. Having said that, his 6th symphony worked well on CC for me.

You know my answer. BBb. Can you be bothered taking 2?
I have actually done The Tchaik and the Violin thing, so they must have been ok on BBb. Only know the "other" Tintagel, with the big trombone solo in it. Not the orchestral one!

If you're Carol Jantsch, yes. She plays the solo violin part--on bass tuba. I'm hoping to hear a recording of her performance of the entire piece, not just a sound byte...jmh3412 wrote:I'm booked to play the following next month and only have vague recollections of the pieces - is there anything worth looking forward to??
