Drop it in "Audacity" or similar and amplify it to normal levels.

"Hasn't done it in over 10 years" is quite possibly the worst excuse I've ever seen for a professor to not be able to get on the internet (or pick up the phone) and check the competition requirements for a major competition like Falcone.
