Vic Wooten and Futureman (one of Vic Wooten's brothers) have both had involvement with Joe Murphy to my knowledge.
Joe Murphy is also playing on one of Jeff Coffin's CDs. Vic Wooten, Futureman, and Jeff Coffin are all a part of the Flecktones.
I would say somewhere along the line Vic Wooten has played with Joe Murphy.

The funny thing is that Victor Wooten doesn't really consider himself a jazz musician. I think he likes to fit himself more in the funk category, although most other people would agree he fits on the fringes of jazz.Joshua Cutchin wrote:Hey y'all,

The reason I say this is because he was asked to be a guest artist at a jazz fest during my undergrad and he declined saying he didn't really play jazz.
Victor's playing is unbelievable. He is an innovator and amazing technician on the electric bass. If you have never heard classical thump, check it out.

Good place to also point out that Vic's new CD, Palmystery, is now out. It's freaking amazing.
There's a video of one of the tunes on YouTube. While this song seems to bring mixed feelings about it (probably because God is the subject), I think it's one of the better ones on the album.

There's another tune on it called "The Lesson," and it's from a tune that's included in Vic's new book (The Music Lesson). It's not completely easy to find, though.
