The vertical scroll problems would be alleviated if you enforced a 3-line maximum on advertisements^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hsignatures.

I would 3rd this request. I like to review this on my Blackberry while commuting on the train or during long rests in rehearsals.

I like the new forum software just as well as I liked the old. It's a great forum, Sean. Keep up the good work.

BTW... is there a 'legend' somewhere that tells what the different types of post icons mean? From what I can see there is not much color difference between the 'new post' icon and the others. Is there something I can do on my side of the Internet to make it a little clearer?

There's a few things to do to fix the scrolling problem:
  • Take the text back down to a sane size, and one that takes up less horizontal space
  • Fix the amount of space between each line of text
  • Set forum views so they take up the full width of a screen. We're losing a whole line of text to "pm" in the date of topics on the Feedback forum and elsewhere.
  • Limit the signature space to (for example) three lines and no graphics (or a small one, 60x60)
  • Fix the signature bug

I have to do three full scroll wheels down just to get to the bottom of the TubeNet forum page. I used to be able to fit all topics in about 1.5 screens vertically. It's not a matter of how much "work" it is to see all of the topics, but a matter of wasted space on the page. People are less likely to view and respond to topics the farther they are down the page, or if they get pushed to the next page.

Right now I'm just using the "zoom out" feature of Firefox to pull the text size down, but it borks the layout sometimes.

One thing I noticed on the old software my level was 3-valves. On the new software I dropped back to bugler. Did the levels change with the new software? :tuba:

Just a nit-picky thing....

When you clicked on embedded links on the old board, it would open the page in a new tab (if using tabbed browsing). The new board doesn't do that. If that could be changed to avoid all of my "ctrl + click"ing, that would be great!

I though I had seen a page with this, but now I cannot find it.

The red color denotes that there are new posts.
The little orange and black icon next to the title is a link to the first new/unread post in the thread.

I think the star means you are subscribed (ie. get reply notifications) to the thread.
If the text is rolling in the icon it's a "hot topic"

This is subscribed with no new posts.

Next is an sticky topic.

I I believe that one is locked as well (no new posts).

This looks promising for firefox users.

Now I'm sure it must be my colorblindness, but the difference between the icon representing threads that I have read and those that I haven't is almost imperceptible to me. It was much easier to tell the difference with the old software.

Also, can anyone tell me how to navigate between threads in this software without going back to the main index each time?
