I would second that request! I sometime look at TubeNet on my mobile when i am out with time to kill, such as at a rehearsal where the tuba has a break. That happened yesterday and I found this new forum absolutely hopeless to navigate. Text way too big and does not display well on the small screen. Also the downloaded file sizes seem a lot bigger.

Is there any facility on this version for WAP access?

I'd also request a more PDA / Mobile friendly option. I use my PDA phone a lot for keeeping up with these boards!

Any chance of adding a more space between topics or even between subject, poster and topic? To me eye, it is hard to filter everything. Just too much on a page to separate it all out and find what you would like.

Kind of similar to:

http://drudgereport.com/" target="_blank

too many topics to just just pick out the one you want quickly.

Just my 2 cents. The look is quite good,

The vertical scroll problems would be alleviated if you enforced a 3-line maximum on advertisements^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hsignatures.

I would 3rd this request. I like to review this on my Blackberry while commuting on the train or during long rests in rehearsals.

I like the new forum software just as well as I liked the old. It's a great forum, Sean. Keep up the good work.

BTW... is there a 'legend' somewhere that tells what the different types of post icons mean? From what I can see there is not much color difference between the 'new post' icon and the others. Is there something I can do on my side of the Internet to make it a little clearer?

One thing I noticed on the old software my level was 3-valves. On the new software I dropped back to bugler. Did the levels change with the new software? :tuba:

Just a nit-picky thing....

When you clicked on embedded links on the old board, it would open the page in a new tab (if using tabbed browsing). The new board doesn't do that. If that could be changed to avoid all of my "ctrl + click"ing, that would be great!

I though I had seen a page with this, but now I cannot find it.

The red color denotes that there are new posts.
The little orange and black icon next to the title is a link to the first new/unread post in the thread.

I think the star means you are subscribed (ie. get reply notifications) to the thread.
If the text is rolling in the icon it's a "hot topic"

This is subscribed with no new posts.
Clipboard03.jpg
Next is an sticky topic.
Clipboard04.jpg
I I believe that one is locked as well (no new posts).

Oops, I found this on the phpBB help forum.

Two general points

Now I'm sure it must be my colorblindness, but the difference between the icon representing threads that I have read and those that I haven't is almost imperceptible to me. It was much easier to tell the difference with the old software.

Also, can anyone tell me how to navigate between threads in this software without going back to the main index each time?

The side bar ad's are hanging over on top of the posts for me. the G&W "play naked" that is on the right side of the is fine but other ones (I know that it is red) hang over and partially cover the Quote button.

Firefox here and no issue with that.

Also no issues with the add covering extra.

Here's what this looks like:

I'm not a fan....
Maybe a bit too minimalist. Perhaps the PDA guys will like it?

userstyles has several other phpBB styles. But I think they need edited for the particular site you want to use them with? Haven't had time to look more.

TubeNet is now unreadable in IE which came on my Treo. I will see about getting a barebones theme for PDA users. Might be a few days though. Things here are stable enough that I might take the weekend off of TubeNet stuff.

BTW, since the move to phpBB3 and the corresponding Captcha hacks I created and implemented, TubeNet has had exactly ZERO spam account creation requests get through. Before there were literally dozens each day. New accounts management is a sigh or relief. Before none were getting approved, but there was a LOT of manual sorting. Now there is basically none.
