I've had success with a couple along the way. . . You can get a big, big sound with the GW Baer (that I actually bought from our bloke), I wanted to get a more focused sound and moved to my original helleberg. Just recently my teacher loaned me his Stofer/Gieb and that seems to be the best match so far. . . let us know what you come up with.

Hi all. I tried to post this answer before but it failed so here we go again. I am playing on both the PCK and the PCM and have experimented with several mpce to get a sound that I am comfortable. When I picked my tuba up in Hamburg, Dietrich suggested the Try the KLIER 3E. This is a very good choice as it is quite responsive and it evens this tuba out in ll the ranges. It really worked nice for me but after some time I moved away from that as I found that with the way that I play, the color changed to fast and I wanted something with a more traditional inner rim (I found it to be a little wide also). I used the Baer (new version) and that was nice but it dulls the sound out a bit. Maybe if you play lean and a bit bright that is a nice choice. I Tried the PT 82 and had some nice results as well. I have since returned to my Laskey 30H which I used on the PCM and for the time being, it gives me what I want in a more consistent manner. The PCK is very resonant, and I suspect that the recommendation by Dietrich was to avoid the use of something too deep and heavy, thereby dulling the natural sound of this horn.

If I want a big broad sound, I use my 'Orchestra' model, for a slightly smaller sound with e little more projection, I use my 'Ensemble' version.
