Does anyone carry Rudy Meinl anymore?

Seems too bad that they've become such a rare commodity.

On a related topic: Any new/updated thoughts regarding the 4345 piston or rotor? Comparison to the HB2/2P?

Clearly neither horn can claim fad status at this point. I've checked the archives. With the clarity of a few years distance behind us what are the impressions now? I really need to find a place to play them.

If your design priority were 1)characteristic sound and 2)superior/above average intonation in 3) a small CC chamber horn sort of package could you still out do those horns?

Lee can get them, but at quite a price.

Anyone have an HB2/2P or Rudy 4345 or similar such horn(priority: character in sound and intonation in a small 4/4 package) within say a four hour radius of Kansas City? I'll happily provide all the food/drink you can consume in one sitting in exchange.

I guess WWBW stopped carrying them, unfortunately. If I were a rich man, I'd own either the HB2P or the Rudy piston 4/4 - astounding horns!

If you are ever in the Northern California area you can drop by and have a toot on my 4345 rotary. I have been using this tuba for the past five or so years and just love it! Beautiful sound and the intonation is amazing. I believe this particular horn (1st of it's kind) to be very special. I bought it directly from Lee when he imported it from Germany.
