FREE Music for October Tubas

Post by Carroll »

I was getting ready for some Oktoberfest playing and thought I would dust off some quartets I did long ago. These are not particularly inspired, but they work, you will not have to rehearse them, and you can't beat the price! FREE!

Shoot me a PM and I will get them to you. :tuba:

I had a request for treble clef euphonium parts... so those are up now. Same download link should work.
If anyone had difficulty downloading these... we do have other, less elegant, options.

Thanks for making these arrangements available. The solo part for the Clarinet Polka looks like sitting well on the F tuba in the provided transposition. I am new to reading for the F tuba, so this should be a fun way working on that aspect.

Yes, I wrote it for Sande McMorran when he first got his F. Was that really 20 years ago?

I also listened to some of the carols-mp3's. That together with the structure of the polka settings made me want to read about your 4-tet, but Google did't give me precise links. My sense of forensics tells that you work with 2 euphs, an F and a contrabass like in CC, which was what I wanted confirmed from some sort of homepage.

The polka settings display consistency but for the Clarinet Polka, which has the full 4-tet playing background for the soloist. Is it intended for a guest (the name mentioned is unknown to me on this side of the pond), or do you skip the 3rd part when doing this polka?

Klaus,

My quartet (Euphouria) uses three euphoniums and a tuba (usually a CC). The clarinet polka was indeed intended for a guest, who was our university professor at the University of Tennessee when I was doing Master's work there.

I am pleased that you took your time to listen to my "Ornaments" and would be interested in you comments on arrangements and performances.
