Hey everyone,
After listening to the sound clip of Alan Baer playing Vals Venezolano from his CD "Coast to coast" I really want to play it. I'm guessing that it was personally transcribed by him or for him, but is their a tuba part available for purchase? If not, what instrument was it taken from? Thanks in advance!

You can get the music for trumpet here: http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/lichtmann/tptsolos.html" target="_blank
I believe on this same site there is a midi recording of the accompaniment that you can play along with (Bb transposition) I play this in C a written on the trumpet part. I believe the version that Mr. Baer does is in F and was transcribed for him by his friend and colleague Philip Myers.
Hope this helps.

The link appeared interesting. There should be a .pdf version of the music for trumpet and piano, but the link is broken.Roger Lewis wrote:You can get the music for trumpet here: http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/lichtmann/tptsolos.html" target="_blank" target="_blank

A midi accompaniment in Bb would have been interesting for all pitches of low brasses, as it would be possible to open it in Finale or a similar appliacation and then transpose it to the desired key. However there sadly is no midi file available on the page linked to. Is it there in a lower level of the site hierarchy?

I tried to open the midi in Finale. There are 3 staves, but one is empty and may easily be deleted. The rest looks surprisingly clean. A few notes should be moved from the right hand to the left hand, and there of course no dynamics written.
I will have a closer look at it another day.
