Just read this in _The_Seattle_Weekly_:
"A group of people in the Seattle classical music scene are organizing a memorial for Edward McMichael outside McCaw Hall (where he played for opera patrons) Saturday at 11 a.m. Horns are encouraged."
I'm not exactly sure who is organizing this but I'm going to make an effort to be there. I'm a little nervous about my playing ability in public but I guess the Tuba Man would tell me to do it for the joy of it so I think I will.

Thanks for spotting this. Looks like the official web page is http://www.riptubaman.org/.
"All musicians are invited to play", which sounds like it includes those of us who aren't world class or anything. Should be fun, hope a fair number of tubas show.
