Pokorny recital as downloadable mp3 (again, kind of)

Post by imperialbari »

Second Edit:

The same person sent me this link:

http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?so ... 440&T=7200

Personally I like having the full 1 hour+ mp3. Others will prefer the subdivided version presented via the latest link. Anyway the main issue on my agenda has been re-established: availability.

Your old messenger boy has been cross during parts of the process, but let us listen to the beautiful playing of these fine Chicago musicians.

Edit:

Somebody, unknown to me, has urged me to remove the link for the said mp3. I have replied, that I would not do so, as I have not done anything illegal or executed any web-malpractice: no hacking, no abuse of password, no entering into restricted areas. I took the edu part of the link for its face value: education.

However I see from a posting down here, that there may be a bandwidth problem, which is a factor I have respect for.

But then guys: Beauty is out there.

Here follows my almost original posting:

Thank you!!

I had downloaded the broadcast, too, but I was having a really hard time just trying to convert this to anything other than RealPlayer's .IVR file format! How did you do it?

The Jackson wrote:...How did you do it?
Did very little but being in the information-pool of another tubist not having heard the broadcast/streaming from the recital, and then changing a file link to a page link because the former could not be right clicked in the format presented to me.

And then I of course still have my professional teacher’s attitude that information is there to be made good use of by whomever would want to do so (doesn’t go for my eBay hunts and some projects in progress).

PS: And then I indicated the file size to warn those being on slow hook-ups.

A solution for the presentation of the Pokorny recital has been made available. Please see my twice edited original posting on top of this page.

Thank you Klaus. I had to miss the live broadcast on Sunday. I was at a Low Brass Quintet rehearsal working on a bunch of Tuba Christmas and other low brass Christmas music arrangements for a little performance we will be giving the Saturday after Thanksgiving at one of the large Shopping Malls in our area. I was very upset about having to miss the broadcast. However, because of your efforts, I was able to close the door to my office this afternoon and spent my lunch hour listening to Gene's Pokorny's recital. All I can say is...WOW! Thanks again.

Now back to the real world...
