I don't think it's a B & S stencil ... aka Gerhart Schneider, Sonora, Carl Wunderlich, etc.. I would need a closer look at the braces and attachment backing plates to add more. I would come closer to thinking it is an Amati. If it's less than 20 years old AND has a contour on the profile of the thumb-ring, then I would lean toward it being an Asian copy.

I have followed the North Europeand and North American tuba auctions quite close over a few years. Of course my brass galleries also have lots of other brasses among the 5000+ entries. The name of Franz Kaiser is a normal German name with a slightly snobbish tint, which I wouldn’t remember unless it was associated with something special to me. So I checked my index and my disks. And no single instrument by Franz Kaiser surfaced.

That might point towards a stencil scheme with a narrow market share, down to one dealer.

The shown samples only have 3 valves, which also points towards a local band supplier putting his name on the bells.

I don't either. I wasn't inferring a B&S connection to these tubas. ...... Sorry to have confused you.
I understood what you were saying. WE weren't confused. But... B & S always seems to come up in discussions regarding rotary stencils... since there are so darned many of them around. I thought I would just toss that info in.

I'm reading this way too late.., but I don't know if you now know. Meister Franz Kaizer seemed to be a Dutch importer of Melton tuba. These Kaizers are most likely to be built in the Melton factory.

Just for general interest ;)

I bumped into this post via google

Yes Bloke, it seems to be a 25 without a 4th valve.
