Alexander CC Tuba for sale

Postby dave » Sun Apr 11, 2004 4:14 pm

Alexander CC tuba for sale. I bought this a few months ago from Alex C, it is a beautiful horn that plays very well. The reason I am selling is that I just don't have time to learn CC, and practice euphonium BBb and F tuba. This is a great quintet horn, it has a fantastic tone, very nice for solo work. A tuning rod was added for ease of adjusting the main slide, and heavy valve caps were added, both prior to my getting the horn. There are some small dents as shown in the pictures, but basically the horn is in very good condition and has been well taken care of.

It has a 16 1/2" bell and is 40" tall. Comes with gig bag and one mouthpiece. I've shown two mouthpieces; your choice (or both for an extra $50). The German unmarked mouthpiece has a smaller dia, similar to the Bobo Solo. The Marcinkiewicz is the Rose Solo model with large shank, and has a larger bowl diameter than the German mouthpiece.

I will list this on ebay in about a week, but first shot goes to tubenet. Price is $3050 with one mouthpiece, $3000 without.

Stupid Question??

Postby Cesar V » Wed Apr 14, 2004 9:19 pm

Just wondering...did Alex's ever make their horns with Pistons?? or are they strictly rotary, just wondering.

---Cesar"who might get an alex" V
If the conductor says, "That's a good-sounding tuba," it's a 4/4.

If the trumpets say, "Man, that's a big tuba," it's a 5/4.

If the bass trombonist says, "That's freakin' awesome!", it's a 6/4, a.k.a. BAT.
(Thank's Leland)

From everything I have ever seen, Alex only make rotory valve horns. That goes for every instrument they make.
