Much easier...that's your JW Pepper high-pitch Eb (the engraving gives it away). I thought you sold that?Tubaing wrote:How bout from this angle?Tubaing wrote:

It is a Mirafone. I've never heard of the term "standard" though

Re: NAME THAT TUBA...!!!
Tubaing: No it's just a serial number, the only stuff the on the bell is the Mirafone Mountain and the serial # and "Made in Germany" and the only markings on the body are the corresponding serial # and the valve #'s on the back of the casings.

Re: NAME THAT TUBA...!!!
Arg you got it. Did you find an old post and look at my signature? It is indeed a Mirafone 1270. I've only been able to get a model # from the Miraphone Representative directly. And I've yet to see another one just like this. A few near identical upright models with four valves. It's a goofy little thing that's for sure!

Re: NAME THAT TUBA...!!!
The four valve model would be a 1271 (although with front action instead of top - have you seen an upright action 4 valve like this?). There are very few of them, and I did a search at http://www.miraphone.de to find the model number of their old 3 valve recording bass.tubatom91 wrote:Arg you got it. Kevin spends too much time on TubeNet and not enough time doing his math homework.the elephant wrote:Kevin, I authorize one cookie for you as well!Tubaing wrote:meinl 32 with york bell?
I post pics here too much. Plus the prior owner posted these in his for sale ad, so they have been around some. Very good memory.
It is a MW 32 with the valves taken down and reordered so that 5th is on the bottom. It has a 1941 York Monster Eb bell in original unsilvered finish.
Or so I've been told....
