Mirafone Catalog/Articles

Post by UTSAtuba »

I was sent this vintage Mirafone Catalog/Articles along with my tuba. I figure the TubeNet community might want to have a small peek at this older literature (circa 1970s). Happy Reading!

The article "Rotary Valves are American" (page 7) is interesting!
Rotary valves were formerly used extensively in the United States, but fashion decreed their demise many years ago. Even, though they are definitely superior to piston valves in quickness of action and clearness of windways, doubtless it would be a futile gesture to enter a plea of resurrection in the land of their origin.

Thanks for posting. I was not aware that Mirafone made a selection of woodwinds.

Also, the catalog mentions a 186 CC with a removable recording bell. So, whomever wanted a CC with a recording bell, there might be one floating around out there!
