POKORNY LOW BRASS SEMINAR

Post by Andrew Glendening »

Dear TubeNet,

The Gene Pokorny Low Brass Seminar at the University of Redlands will expand this year to include the entire low brass section!!

I am please to announce that Randall Hawes, bass trombonist with the Detroit Symphony will join Gene Pokorny, tubist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for a week long seminar at the University of Redlands. This year the seminar will be held June 29 through July 3rd. We are accepting applications for performers and auditors on tuba, tenor and bass trombone and entire low brass sections. The number of performers is limited.

For more information go to http://www.redlands.edu/x35340.asp" target="_blank" target="_blank

This is a fantastic opportunity to spend quality time with excellent musicians and find new inspiration.

Regards,

Andrew Glendening, Dean (and trombone professor!)

danzeman,

There is no minimum or maximum age for auditors (or performers.) Anyone who wants to learn is welcome to be an auditor. The performers are selected by recorded audition. Most of the auditors played along with the group warmups each morning, but that was their choice.

Last year we had really great mix of ages and backgrounds that made for some excellent questions and some terrific playing. Auditors can also come for a day or two if they want.
