Doug Yeo on sabbatical from Boston Sym.

Post by Toad Away »

Douglas Yeo, Bass Trombone, Serpent, etc. has a blog concerning his six months off.
Some good pics here of interest to tubists:
(Historical instruments  , the lovely Deanna  , and more

I'll be traveling up to Stephenville, TX, to attend his performance at Tarleton State University on March 4.

Good Grief!

The president of Tarleton State U. started things off,
because some new donors were inducted into the
Tarleton Society, by his mispronunciation of
Mr. Yeo's instrument:

Said it was a Image trombone.

Mr. Yeo's feature piece, Proclamation by Gordon Langford, ended with a very long held note with a
decrescendo into perfect silence .....

Of course, a baby in the audience immediately began crying
and did so until the end.

My main complaint is that there was a contra-bass trombone
in the ensemble, even though it wasn't called for in any
of the music.
Just played tuba parts on all the selections.

What the **** :?:
