For Amateur, Non-students Only
Just trying to see if there're many similarities in what amateur tubists do for money.
You'll have to forgive some of the clunky groupings; the poll only allows ten options.

Re: For Amateur, Non-students Only
I am going to be a music major next year so I'm kind of included in this poll. My current job is education related, I teach Archery to kids 8 and up. Our class list say ages 8-99yrs
. My responsibilities are mainly to make sure that I don't get shot and of course make sure none of them get shot. It's an ok gig, for now
.
A little fun fact I just realized about myself, I've been shooting archery for 10 years
. That's the first time I've ever measured anything with decades, at age 17.

Auto parts delivery service manager. It pays the bills, and is just flexible enough to allow me to still work with students at the university and gig some.

Way underpaid Senior Industrial Designer/Graphic Designer, but it has been nice doing consulting so I have very flex hours, better to get away to daytime gigs. Not too many real paying gigs lately, but I do get food and gas money at some!Mister JP wrote:Graphic Design & Illustration here. I'm underpaid, looking for a better job.

For 26 years, manager in a music copyright company. Now self employed consultant which provides the flexibility to fit work (to earn the money) around musical gigs (occasionally paid, but mainly for enjoyment)

Family physician 17 years.
Tuba 11 months. First paying gig at my one year tuba playing anniversary next month!
(A little side money playing disc golf professionally, too. Family keeps me from getting out as much as I used to.)

I'm the first one to chose the restaurant industry. Technically it's acurate. I work for a company that sells restaurant equipment an supplies. We can equip a resturant with everything it needs except for the food, building and employees. I'm in the chemical division. I'm the guy that installs and maintians the commercial dish machine and chemical dispensers .

I'm a retired Army eupher, but since I like to eat, I went over to regulated industry, specifically pharma and medical devices.
I'm currently a Quality Assurance Manager for a Fortune 200 company.
I play a few pay gigs a year, mostly on bass trombone.

I work for a church as a minister of music and education. I used to have paid gigs regularly, but now I live too far away from a metro area. I do play for some freebies that are gratifying.

Hey Schlep, the only "regrettable" part of that is those who don't appreciate that with the rather demise of trains compared to decades past, without the trucks, we wouldn't have 90%+ of the items we purchase. Hang in there!schlepporello wrote:Regrettably, I'm still a seasoned professional truck driver.
