I had a GREAT time at the Great Plains Regional ITEC. There were too many wonderful performances to even begin. I judged (with Mike Forbes) 18 tuba solos in the tuba competition.... all 18 were great. You would think hearing the same Vaughan Williams, Broughton, and Gregson concertos over and over would make you go crazy... but for me they all were performed well and with different interpretations. It was actually quite invigorating. I will probably borrow some of those interpretations next time I tackle the Vaughan Williams.
The over all event was terrific. It was fun to meet so many legends and new faces. THANK YOU to Steven Maxwell and his studio for running a great event!

I think we should have had a downhill office chair race. Ken's kids would have won, hands down.
