IMHO, for a 4-valve F, not necessarily, but not exactly the bargain-of-the-year. 4-valve Fs are just less useful than 4-valves in any other key. (In other words, I would take a 4-valve Yamaha upright EEb long before I would take any 4-valve F.)

Plus $2000 to add a fifth (required, IMO) valve.

$4100 mediocre (possibly) F tuba.

What can you get for $4100 on the used market?

Or even the 5-valve B&M F tuba at BBC for $2,700. I'm not sure why that one has hung around for so long. It's had favorable reviews on here, and is a good price and for a quality first F tuba. (I'm trying to talk myself out of this one... :))

I'm not convinced the seller is correct that it is a B&S.

Anybody who knows more about that subject than I do (just about everybody) have any thoughts?

I agree with you. I think the picture isn't detailed enough to tell what it actually is.
