FREE QUINTET MUSIC

Post by Craig Garner »

It may be late, or early depending on how you look at it, but we have posted a free Christmas arrangement on our site for anyone interested.

It is an arrangement of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing written in Baroque style. It features 2 piccolo (or D) trumpets and opens with the trumpets playing an extended fanfare.

It is available at http://www.dorm40music.com" target="_blank" target="_blank"
Just click the link on the home page that says "download a FREE score & parts."

There is also an audio file available (unfortunately only with sampled instruments).

Enjoy

Just an aside. Many or most quintets who are going to be playing Christmas music are composed of amateurs, and most amateur trumpet players a) don't have a piccolo or D trumpet, and b) the reason they don't have them is that they can't play that high. Most don't have C trumpets either because essentially all band music is written for Bb.

So if you want quintets to play your music, you have to pay attention to the usable ranges of most amateurs.
