Name Our Quartet - Follow Up!

Post by CrappyEuph »

Hello, TubeNet!

We got a lot of great name suggestions...and a lot of not-so-great ones, as I predicted. I am proud to announce our name:

Sweet Thunder Quartet!

The name actually comes from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, but more people might recognize it from the Duke Ellington tune "Such Sweet Thunder." And the person who came up with it was actually me, and I am forfeiting the $50 prize and depositing it in the Sweet Thunder Post-Gig Beer Fund.

Thank you for your suggestions, and wish us luck on our debut concert tomorrow morning at the Midwest Regional Conference (a.k.a. Tubonium) at Gustavus Adolphus College!

- The Newly-Named Sweet Thunder Quartet

Even better if you had used one of the suggestions circulating behind the scene.

Anyway: Congratulations! A TE 4-tet comprising a drummer must have potential. And if there are misshaps, the doctor isn’t far away.
