Humes & Berg sousaphone straight mute?

Post by imperialbari »

Any experiences with the Humes & Berg sousaphone straight mute (which is anything but straight)?

Does it fit the Conn 26K/28K/14K bells as well as the bells of the Conn 20K/40K?

Are there alternative makers/models?

I have had no luck finding the H&B 196 with a price in an online outlet. What would the price be in the US?

Hm...I saw that they have a tuba cup mute...anyone have any experience with that, or know if it might work on my CB50?
I'm really into cool mutes, though all I have right now is a straight (DW) and practice (Trumcor) for my tuba right now...also, if anyone knows where I could find a plunger for the tuba...they don't quite make toilets that big, so I may be up s**t creek...
