"Hurray, hurray, it's the first of May!
Outdoor tuba-playing-with-no-pants-on starts today!"

(sorry the meter limps so badly, but after playing a tuba outdoors with no pants on, you probably will, too  )

Being in Afghanistan, I was privileged to celebrate ITD well before all of you great people in the western hemisphere. Unfortunately, the Army frowns on outdoor tuba playing sans pants.

Sorry for the disappointment.

Rejoining the western hemisphere in 11 days! :D

Been there, done that...

(at Burningman and also with the "Be Natural Jazz Band" - uniform is strictly black tie and towel! ;-)

played 2 hours at a local pizza joint tonight, with a banjo playing buddy and another friend, clarinet player, who came in. It was sort of an audition, the first time he's had live music there at all, and it was successful. At least, no one grabbed the whole crock of cherry tomatoes from the salad bar to throw at us.

And, no one left retching. So, a success.

I played in the garage for an hour, with pants on (it's chilly and rainy today).
