Tell your friends...

Well, I went and picked up the Kalison at the shop today. I ended up taking it to Jackson's Music in Buford (GA) and I have to say that if you live in Georgia or even close to it, and you need repair work done, take it to Mark over there. He's a very nice guy, does what he says, when he says he will do it, and did an awesome job getting the wrinkles out of the bell and aligning and soldering the third valve slide. I called him on a whim and due to the fact that no repair shop would return calls/emails, wouldn't touch it, or said after I dropped it off it would be $200-$250 just for the bell and would take two to three weeks (which was a well known place in Athens). Dropped my horn off with Mark on Friday and it was done Tuesday. To do the bell and slide he quoted $95 and the bill when I picked it up was,TA-DA, $95. When I dropped off the tuba he took me back into the back to the shop and showed me some of the things that they are set up to do. We basically just "shot the bull" and the owners are also extremely nice and accomodating. If you need some great repair work done fast give them a call.

Now I just have to wait for the 4 valve buttons to come in just so they will match...
